Hey 👋 I’m Mark Bear; by day a software engineer from London, UK, but by night… well, I’m usually pretty knackered (adulting amiright) BUT at the weekends and when the moment takes me, there’s nothing more I love to do than make music and share it. I’ve been told it’s manna for my soul - something that I drop into when stressed out and it just soothes me. (I think I just bearsplained a hobby…).
Ever since I was a kid I was inspired to make music - Mum sung in our choir, Dad introduced me to The Beatles and my Sister wrote some awesome songs on her guitar. I used to sit on a broken wall in primary school and sing to the school yard. I guess you could say from an early age I knew making people happy through my creativity was the biggest thing that made me happy.
I’d describe my music as EDM with dramatic theatrics and the occasional “professionally camp” moment like remixing Chopin into Intermission on my upcoming album. I want my music to elate you. I want to put you in a good mood, maybe make you smile and definitely have you find yourself humming or singing one of my earworm choruses later. I want to give you mood music. I really hope that comes across in what you hear. My debut album Heartcore arrives 7th August.
